Curriculum
We always considers the whole child. Activities that stimulate physical,
social, emotional, intellectual and creative development are offered in
structured and unstructured times. The teachers provide a balance of
large group, small group and individual activities in language, literacy,
number, art, block building, fine motor, large motor, sensory, dramatic play
and science. Teachers know the children well and introduce new materials to
further exploration and learning. Stories, song, music and dance are
integrated into the curriculum. We believe that thoughtful attention to
children's ideas and feelings is central to curriculum. Learning the social
skills of sharing, cooperating and negotiating is done through teacher
modeling and explanation. We believe that when children feel respected and
happy, they learn best what they are ready to learn.
School Calendar & Closing Notifications
Little Wagon will be open 52 weeks of the year. We will close for New
Year's Day, Martin Luther King Day, Presidents Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day,
Labor Day, Columbus Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas. The school will also
close on the Friday after Thanksgiving.
If Little Wagon doesn't open or delays opening because of poor weather
conditions, this information will be posted on the CCCC website, sent
by email, and be available on the school's answering machine by 7:30 A.M.
